How to Style your home with Pastels

The month of March has hit us with a bang and the bright mornings and nights are starting to emerge.. Which means one thing… Spring is near! And I don’t know about you but there’s only really one colour palette that screams Spring to me – Pastels! When I think of pastels, not only do I think of the neighbourhood in Edward Scissorhands (pictured below) & Cadbury’s mini eggs (yum!) I think of gorgeous powder blues, minty greens, lucious lilacs and blush pinks. This soothing colour palette goes well with both neutrals and bold colours and never goes out of style. Here’s how I would introduce pastels into my home. So whether you would like to simply add a pop of pastel to you home accessories or completely transform your home with them, keep reading!

1. Wallpaper

I know what you’re thinking, “wallpaper – really?” But there are honestly some beautiful pastel wall papers out there along with paint if you prefer more of a plain look. Adding a pastel feature wall to your room can create a stunning focal point and disguise ugly or bare walls. This would look amazing as a feature wall for your bedrom to go against in your bedroom or even in the hall way styled with some large floor plants and a side table.

2. Kitchen appliances and utensils

If you would rather keep neutral wall surroundings (or are maybe not allowed to alter them) another way to bring a pop of pastel colour is through your kitchen appliances, utensils and accessories! As you can see below, the mint green fridge contrasts beautifully against the black and white tiles and kitchen. You could mix and match different pastel tones with maybe a baby pink kettle and dusky blue toaster – you decide! You can even go a step further by adding a pastel coloured bin, mugs, crockery, bar stools etc – just depending on your vibe!
