Luxury Room Makeover Mood Board

A lot of my clients have been asking me how to achieve a more luxurious feel to their living area without having to spend ridiculous amounts of cash repainting their space or changing their flooring etc. It has really made think and get my creative juice flowing and has inspired me to write this blog post!
I decided to create a inspiration board not only for myself but also to give you guys a lil’ bit of inspo on how to give your space a more luxurious feel by making a few simple changes. So if you’re like to find out how to transform your space, keep reading!
Japura Fabrics
This stunning collection from Romo was one of the first elements to land on my mood board. This collection adopts a combination of tropical prints, soft chenilles and sumptuous textures.
This particular fabric called Velvet Amazonite (pictured right) is a stunning fabric that can be made into curtains, roman blinds, cushions or even upholstered onto accent chairs! I think this fabric would pair beautifully with all the pieces I mention below, it’s combination of teals, mauves and peach tones would suit a room with gold accents, neutral beiges, whites or blush tones walls and would also tie in this print; along with oriental decor and faux green plants. Escape the hassles of the outside world by bringing some exotic botantical themes to your room and create a calming, yet oppulent theme.

I also love this teal fabric from the collection called Kamakura Kingfisher!
This fabric is also of a velvet texture, which features shades of indigo, teal, charcoal and silver blue in a incaptulating shibori design.
This would look stunning if made into a cushions and paired alongside Velvet Amazonite and placed on your sofa.
Now if that doesn’t sound like modern luxury then I don’t know what does!

Floor lamps
Adding a floor lamp to your space can instantly add a classier look to your room and also save a lot of space!!
(sometimes it’s just difficult to find a side table to place a smaller lamp on so why not save the hassle for yourself!!)
This stunning Katie Bleu Sam Floor Lamp from Rock Lighting is a perfect example, the gold stand combined along with the ivory lampshade makes a stunning source of light that easily be moved around the room to suit your decor needs. Rock lighting have many more colour and style options of floor lamps available on their site. Check out their gorgeous collections here
Gold rounded mirrors
Round mirrors have been everywhere recently and I am LOVING them! Hanging a round mirror above your fireplace, shelves or side tables can add an interesting and stylish focal point to your space and are generally quite inexpensive!
These gorgeous gold mirror from Dougan’s Furniture are the perfect example, such simple yet elegant pieces that can really dress up a blank looking wall.
Velvet Accents
Ahh, velvet. One of my favourite fabric textures, that has came back into style over the recent years.
But personally I think velvet is timeless and will always be one of the simplest to add more of a luxury feel to your interiors.
Adding velvet accent pieces like cushions, footstools or throws can create so much more depth and vibrance to your space without having to replace any of your current furniture.
This gorgeous rose gold velvet footstool would look stunning with nearly any colour of sofas and chairs and is also the perfect option to rest your tootsies on!
Geometric Book Shelf
I saw this book shelf and I instantly thought it would be an interesting addition to my mood board.
This piece reminded me so much of artist Mondrian’s style (I definitely think it was inspired by his work!)
The boxy offset geometric shape of each shelf reflects his style so much in my eyes and I am living for it!
The mix of metal and wood used to create this stunning piece gives it a touch of the Scandi decor vibes, (I could swear I’ve seen it on the set in an episode of Wallander).
This piece would look stunning alongside a round mirror styled with bold picture frames, statement vases, candles and some of your favourite books of course!
In conclusion, I think the key to adding luxury to your home is all in the thought process behind the decor choices; by just making simple changes like adding new cushions, curtains, mirrors, and accessories can make such a difference to your space without having get your tool box out!
I’ve really enjoyed writing this piece and it has gave me so much inspiration for future blogs which will be coming soon!
